Friday Already??

1.   Something that makes me a great friend is,      I will listen, I think I have pretty good advice (I think!), and I am good about getting people excited about their lives  .

2.  I am    a dreamer. I want to do everything possible in life. Mike calls me a "wanter" because I want to do and experience as much as I can! You can also find me day dreaming on a regular basis.

3.  I am not      a snow and rain kinda girl. I am also not a fan of olives - they look like fingers.

4.  If I had to describe myself in 3 words, they would be     super freakin' cool! Haha, kidding...kinda :) Probably, dreamer - lover - excited/corney lol   .

5.  Something I'm really cheap about is    groceries. I will definitely buy the store brand if its cheaper..except on a few things like light and fit yogurt.

6.  Something I'm willing to splurge on is     gifts for people I love, travel/once in a life experiences    .

7.  I would trade       this arctic cold weather       for       jean shorts, a tank and 85 degrees   in a heartbeat.

New Look

As you can see I got all fancy and created a new header and button for my blog! Whatcha all think??

I picked these pictures because they are all my favorite things: Mexico, San Diego, Sweets (obvi!), Spain, and Italy. I wish there was room for more pictures but I will just have to change it up again soon.

If you need another super cool button for your blog page - here is my new one! You can use the link on the right hand side to add it - if your heart so desires :)

Have a great Wednesday!! You know that means Modern Family is on tonight! Wooo!!

Project Hope and Snowmen

Since we were talking about Cameron I want to tell you another great thing that he has made happen since September. The weeks before he passed Cameron became very interested in a cause called Project Hope. He saw a HBO documentary called "Homeless: The Motel Kids of Orange County" that touched him. He decided that he wanted to help these children that are suffering in our own community. Amazing for a 20 year old guy right?

Unfortunately, he did not have the chance to help these children personally. That does not mean that he didn't help them. His family made sure to carry out his wishes of helping these children. The Bissins have raised over $12,000 for the Project Hope School in Orange County that has been donated in Cameron's memory. Christy, my mother and a few of their friends also volunteer every Friday morning to go be teachers and teacher's aides at the Project Hope School. They are there every week connecting with and guiding these children that are struggling everyday. Cameron would be SO proud and SO happy that these kids are getting help from him and his family and friends.

During the Holidays my creative ole' mother made some super cute snacks for the kids. I am sure they just LOVED them and had smiles and giggles on their face.

Check them out!
"Melty the Snowman!"

Get it? They are melting! Muahahaha!

I think these women are amazing for their efforts at Project Hope School...don't you? :)

A Little Miracle

I really mean little....a baby!

There is a long story behind this but I will try to give you the shorter version.

My family has another family (the Bissins) that we are very close to. My brother and their son (Cameron) grew up together playing baseball and causing trouble through middle school and high school. My mom and Christy (the Mom) are the meaning of BFF4L and Paul (the Dad) and my dad play golf and whatever else men do on a pretty regular basis.

Cameron was a one of a kind person. He loved everyone so deeply, lived and held nothing back, and had a smile that would literally light up a room. In September, we lost Cameron one unsuspecting morning. It turned their lives and ours upside down. Everyone is still feeling the pain from losing such an amazing person and family member at the young age of 20 years old.

The miracle in this story is that he really made sure that part of him would still be with us and his family even though he is gone. His girlfriend found out after he passed that she was pregnant with Cameron's baby.  It is such a crazy miracle that it is hard to believe.

He will forever live on through his soon to be daughter - Payton Cameron Krysteen Bissin.

This past weekend we celebrated Trysha's baby shower. It was a beautiful event at Cameron's house with all their friends and family present. Cameron would have been so happy to see it. To help with the celebration I made some Chocolate Chip and Oatmeal Cookies (Cameron's favorite!) and some cupcakes.

After a long few months since Cameron left us, it was great to see everyone smiling and celebrating something good that has come from this.

Rest In Peace Cameron.
You are loved and miss always.

Fill in the Blank Fridays

Today I am participating in the blog world and linking up with some e-friends of mine. I always love reading Soxial Butterfly and she is linked up with Lauren at The Little Things We Do for the "Fill in the Blank Friday" so how about I jump on that super fun band wagon they are drivin' around?

So here it is folks, my first fill in the blank blog post...

1.   The best prank I ever pulled was       I don't think I have ever successfully pulled a prank on anyone - not even my dog. I am that bad and I can't keep a straight face if my life depended on it  .

2.  The best prank ever pulled on me was    good question. Either my friends are really bad at pranks or I am way to slick for them to pull a fast one on me   .

3.  A day without     love and laughter      is a day wasted.

4.  The most important things in life are     family, laughter, health and chocolate (no joke here)   .

5.  I dream of     traveling the world and living abroad, owning a successful bakery, and seeing my family happy .

6.  I dread       my alarm clock. It is by far the worst sound in the world. I also dread oranges, sunburns, needles, and Mondays

7.  A discovery I made this week was       that I will be okay at this new job. I think I'll swim and not sink (cross your fingers) and that even though a 10.5 hour day at work on your feet in 90 degree heat may make me want to punch something -  life outside of those 10.5 hours are worth taking a breath and smiling for    .

Cake Class Week #2

I did slightly better this week. When I say slightly I mean that I actually procrastinated even worse this week. I made my cake on MONDAY (it is supposed to be baked by Saturday at the latest) but since I had the day off work I got to frost it and let it set correctly. So that kind of counts as an improvement right?

And I brought scissors this time! Success!

I loved the cake this week - so cute and reminded me of being a kid. I am still a five year old at heart so when its acceptable to be childish it makes me feel so much better about my kiddish view on life :)

Did anyone else watch Sesame Street growing up? What about Doug, RugRats, Hey Arnold, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Power Rangers...oh the good old days. Quality stuff we're talking about here.

What are your favorite childhood cartoons??

Baby Tay

Good morning wishes from little Tay :)

I hope you all had a great weekend! I got to spend it with this little lady, my boy, my parents and Mike's family. It was a good one, for sure.

What did you do this weekend??
